The
day will start with “LNJ Looks Back,” a
20-year State Report Card examining how the state has
handled key issues—as assessed by LNJ graduates.
The Report Card will be based on the responses of
LNJ graduates to an
on-line survey that LNJ is posting, starting August
28th.
The survey asks graduates to
identify the top issues that captured the public’s mind at the time those
graduates were actually in the LNJ program…in
areas such as:
|
|
| |
|
| • |
Environment and
Economy |
| • |
Health, Human Services, Criminal
Justice, Education, Arts |
| • |
Race and Immigration |
| • |
Government, Politics, Ethics and Media |
|
|
The
survey then asks which of the issues within these
categories are still relevant today. And it also
asks which issues New Jersey’s
leaders have addressed well, not well, or not at
all.
Respondents also have the opportunity to identify
the top five issues on the minds of the public today.
The predicate for the survey
has been the information gathered from four focus
groups conducted with LNJ graduates. The participants
in the focus sessions were asked to identify the
key issues that have challenged the state over the
last two decades, and offer their perspectives on
how best LNJ could assess the state’s “performance.”
Both the qualitative and quantitative
research is being coordinated by the President of
The Regional Planning Partnership, Dianne Brake,
LNJ ’90.
